“I am 59.75 years young – I will be 60 February 10th. I am ‘full-figured’ and have ‘mermaid hair’. I am a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of gal and I live casually both in attitude and attire. I have been called an “Old Hippie” and that is not really wrong. ut I do enjoy the amenities of modern living like running water and flush toilets after MANY years of living off the grid.
I was raised in Alaska most of my life and it will always be home. My second homes are the Pacific Northwest and Michigan. I am single and do not have any children. But I do have 19 nieces and nephews including great-nieces and great nephews. I currently attend Grand Rapids Theological Seminary where I am completing my Masters in Counseling – eventually I will be a Licensed Prof. Counselor – eventually. LOL. I work for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and help people with applying for the Food Assistance Program and other resources for food.
I love to cook and I love a good Irish Whiskey on occasion. I enjoy crafts and getting together with friends. Spontaneous road trips are the best thing ever – planned road trips are a very close second. I enjoy seeing the country (and with spending 24 years in Alaska) it’s possible to drive for hours and still be there. If you’re on an island then you are more limited in getting anywhere spontaneously!
The last time I was photographed was during my twenties. I wanted to be a part of this campaign because it looked interesting. For real? No makeup? Yep, that’s me. But I wondered that since I am curvy with gray hair, if that is what Trish really wanted. I am so glad she did! I had such a great time and it was fun and lite and sometimes silly!
Viewing the photos during the Reveal was AMAZING! I never see myself in photos and I never see myself that way. Trish is a miracle worker…I looked FABULOUS!
I strongly feel that as women, we do not need make up and to starve ourselves to be beautiful. We are made in the image of God and He doesn’t make junk! This shoot reminded me that others see a different me than the one I see in the mirror every day. It was great and such a gift to see myself from someone else’s perspective! I was reminded that I am beautiful; I am strong and I am enough!”
